Starting step for European athelets on the way to Paralympics 2020 exists in Moldova!
The inaugural 4th edition of European Para-taekwondo Championships finished successfully on April 20, 2015 in Moldova Chisinau. These Championships took place on three courts at the venue "Manejul de athletism", famous with its big size and popularity to hold international sport events, and which was perfectly decorated with national flags of participating countries, WTF, ETU, EPTU and MTF banners.
Spectators could enjoy watching fights, opening and awarding ceremonies on a huge screen. Hundreds of people made photos against a background with a logo of the 4th European Para-taekwondo Championships.
Record number of participants: 79 male and female para-taekwondo athletes from 15 countries came to the capital of Moldova-Chisinau to earn first G4/G2 Ranking Points in Europe. Para-Europeans became the 1st Open and Ranking tournament in Europe which allowed competitors to start their road on the way to Tokyo Paralympics 2020 !
Turkish Team grabbed the higher Team Score and took the 1st Teams Overall place at the 4th European Para-taekwondo Championships.
EPTU President, Mr. Aleksandr Shlychkov says: "On behalf of EPTU I warmly congratulate Turkey with an achieved success and looking forward to the upcoming World Para-taekwondo Championships in Turkey, Samsun in September 2015! Turkish National Para-taekwondo Team always make spectators stare at forceful fights with punches to draw applauses. I'm also always glad to notice their united cheerful team supporting competitors at the field of play and singing national hymn at the awarding ceremony. This is the victory."
2nd place took Russian Team, while Azerbaijan Team took the 3rd one. Other participating countries also took their Team Scores as well as athletes earned Ranking Points: Poland, Ukraine, Denmark, Spain, Great Britain, Kazakhstan, Italy, France, Croatia, Finland and Moldova.
